Research Reveals The Secret To Long-Lasting Weight Loss

We’ve all been tempted by catchy diets and fads, you know the ones that will see you ‘lose 5 kilos in one week’ or will help you ‘drop three dress sizes in just one month?’ They often sound too good to be true, but that’s because they actually are.

New research has revealed the key to keeping those extra kilos away and it is something just about everyone can do (without the ridiculously early gym sessions, expensive ingredients and gross habits).

The study by The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) has revealed that it isn’t actually a specific diet in particular but the way you follow it. Consistency is key, so the easier it is to follow the more likely you are to lose weight and be able to keep it off – for good!

For example giving up sugar for 12 weeks will probably result in weight loss but it is a very difficult diet to keep up in the long run.

We recommend looking at weight loss as a long-term goal. Rather than aiming to lose 2kg by Saturday night, make small changes towards a healthier lifestyle. Some good examples are avoiding adding sugar to your morning latte, skipping the 3pm vending machine visit and walking to work are going to be more effective in the long run.
