Watch This Bodybuilder Get Crushed by an EMOM Workout at an Altitude of 15,000 Feet

Will Tennyson takes on all kinds of physical challenges on his YouTube channel, from celebrity workouts to fad diets to anime-inspired training sessions. For his latest video, Will tries a CrossFit-inspired EMOM (every minute on the minute) workout in a special chamber filled with filtered air that recreates the conditions of high altitude. And to make things even more difficult for himself, he dons a 20-pound weighted vest.

The workout starts off with inverted rows. “I’m feeling good now, but I have a feeling I’m going to regret it in about five rounds,” he says. Sure enough, each round of rows takes more of a physical toll, and Will takes longer to complete his reps as time passes. “That’s way harder than I thought,” he says. “I can usually bang those out no problem. I feel like I’m panicking.”

The second exercise is the Man Maker, a full-body barbell move which transitions from a pushup to a snatch and clean. This is where Will really starts to struggle, and after the first round he has to take the plates off the bar in order to complete his reps.

“If you get worked up and you get scared that you can’t breathe, you’re going to suffocate,” he says. “You have to stay calm and composed between your sets, and focus on your breathing, or else you stand no chance in the workout.”

Next up is a 30-pound, 75-yard sled push, followed by ball slams into box jumps, wall balls, and finally hip thrusts, where Will has to ditch the dumbbell and perform bodyweight versions only.

“That workout kicked my ass,” he says.
