Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’s daughter Lola is headed to college — and both parents marked the occasion with a bittersweet Instagram post of a goodbye smooch.
This weekend, TV host Ripa and actor Consuelos helped Lola, 18, move in and get settled at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University (according to Lola’s Instagram bio).
Ripa captioned a photo of herself kissing her daughter farewell, “The nest is getting roomy.” Consuelos also shared the same photo on his Instagram feed, captioning it, “2 down… 1 to go,” with a series of heart emojis.
This isn’t the first college send-off for Ripa and Consuelos. The pair’s eldest son, Michael, 22, also studied at NYU. Michael looks so much like his father, he was cast in the role of the younger version of Mark’s character, Hiram Lodge, on the TV show Riverdale.
Ripa and Consuelos also share another son, 16-year-old Joaquin.
Lola’s departure for college seems to be hitting her mom particularly hard. On Aug. 22, Ripa posted a sweet throwback shot of Lola’s baptism:
She captioned it, “#tbt 2001 from your Christening to college. In the blink of an eye. I’m not crying. You’re crying. (actually Daddy’s sobbing).”
Earlier this August, Ripa also posted a fond shot of Lola, captioned, “Middle child vibes #favoritedaughter.”
To which Lola responded in the comments, “And you are my favorite mom.” Tissues, please.
We adore this close-knit family and their oh-so-relatable moments — and we marvel at how easy Ripa and Consuelos make 23 years of marriage look.
