Khloe Kardashian Says Her Family Asked Her To Lose Weight

Sometimes as a woman, you just can’t win — even when it comes to your family. And even when you’re as stunning as Khloe Kardashian.

Season two of Khloe’s show Revenge Body on E! premieres this Sunday. To promote the premiere, Khloe shared a clip from the show on her Instagram stories Thursday showing her having a heart-to-heart with a contestant. She admitted to the contestant that she felt pressure from her family to lose weight.

“[They said] ‘Khloe, you got to lose weight ‘cause you’re really hurting the brand,” she recalls. “I’m a huge believer of it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it…I understand that was coming from my management side of my family, but it does hurt.”

Khloe has been open about her weight-loss journey for a while. Early in 2017, she posted a before-and-after photo of herself to her Instagram before Revenge Body premiered its first season. In it, you can see she lost 40 pounds; a weight loss that she says was prompted by her split from ex-husband Lamar Odom.

If you were to ask me five years ago if I ever saw myself being completely in love with fitness and health. That I would be an inspiration to many others, that I would be the push that others needed to find their way. I would've laughed in your face. Me? The chubby one? No way! But now I can't see myself ever stopping! I am completely honored and taking my role seriously in helping motivate and teach people what I had to learn to better myself from the inside out. Becoming stronger mentally so I can't let the little things break me down. I see myself only getting better and better! I can't believe how far I have come! I almost can't believe that was me! If you've lost your motivation don't beat yourself up about it, negative thoughts only turn into negative realities. By keeping positive about your body, your inner health, your mental sanity, your fitness and what you're trying to achieve, you're way more likely to succeed. My fitness journey was for myself and myself alone. On my terms and on my timeline! Cheers to us becoming better than we were yesterday! #RevengeBody

She says that her fitness and weight-loss journey makes her feel happy and alive — and that the internal transformation from getting healthy was the most important.

“If you were to ask me five years ago if I ever saw myself being completely in love with fitness and health. That I would be an inspiration to many others, that I would be the push that others needed to find their way. I would’ve laughed in your face. Me? The chubby one? No way!” she said in the Instagram caption. “By keeping positive about your body, your inner health, your mental sanity, your fitness and what you’re trying to achieve, you’re way more likely to succeed.”

We’re happy that Khloe is happy and confident with her body. But it’s unfortunate that her family wasn’t as supportive of her when she was a different size.
