As the self-professed queen of convenience cooking, I’m always looking for ways to cut cooking corners, so bagged salad mix is clearly a gift from above.
No, I don’t want to wash, chop, slice and do all other types of manual labor just to eat a salad. However, there’s always a caveat when using prepared foods and bagged salad is no exception. I am notorious for not using the whole bag and letting most of the greens go to waste. So when I saw this genius trick on our friend Marie Saba’s Instagram, I’m not too proud to say my jaw dropped a little.

So. Freaking. Simple. WHY didn’t anyone tell me this before? After I recovered from feeling incredibly dumb for not having thought of this myself, I knew I had to give props where props were due. Just add a paper towel and all that pesky moisture that destroys your fresh lettuce is absorbed—voila—you can enjoy your bagged greens for much longer. Anything that makes it even easier for me to eat a salad deserves to be recognized. So Marie Saba, my laziness (and my health) thanks you.
