Move aside goji berries – the newest superfood could be in your sandwich. Researchers at Korea University in Seoul have discovered that Swiss cheese could help increase your lifespan.
In fantastic news for cheese fans, the scientists found the probiotic Propionibacterium freudenreichii may boost longevity – and it’s found in emmental, aka swiss, cheese. Holey moley!

The authors say it’s because the probiotic has anti-inflammatory properties and can boost your immune system. Yes!
There is a catch, however. The study has only been carried out on roundworms – although the authors do point out that “it is possible that the mechanisms identified in this study may apply to other species including humans.”
