Healthy ANZAC Protein Ball Recipe

It’s tradition to enjoy ANZAC biscuits on ANZAC Day, but this year we thought we would do our own spin on this recipe and create healthy Be Fit Food protein ball alternative. Like the traditional biscuit, this recipe makes use of oats and is super simple to make.

Ingredients

¾ cup almond meal

60g dates, dried and pitted

1 tablespoon water

¾ cup rolled oats

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

½ teaspoon allspice

2 tablespoon coconut oil

1 teaspoon natural vanilla essence

2 tablespoon golden syrup

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

1 tablespoon chia seeds

30g Be Fit Food Vanilla Protein Booster

Desiccated coconut, for coating

Method

In a food processor, combine all ingredients. Blend until the mixture is combined and smooth in consistency.

Place desiccated coconut on a plate or clean bench top.

Using a small kitchen scale, weight out approximately 25g of mixture for each protein ball.

Roll each 25g of mixture into a ball. Roll the ball in desiccated coconut, coating it.

Place protein balls in the freezer for one hour and serve.

Keep protein balls stored in freezer. They can be eaten straight from the freezer or place them in the fridge half an hour before eating to soften.
