Oscar-winning actress and ageless icon Halle Berry has the body of a 25-year-old, thanks to a killer fitness routine and the ketogenic diet—which she has said helps her stay slim and keep her diabetes in check. And thankfully for us mere mortals, she just shared even more of her diet secrets.
In an Instagram post on Friday (a.k.a. #FitnessFriday for Halle), the 51-year-old actress teased that she’d be sharing some of her workout moves—along with some of her favourite keto snacks—throughout the day on Instagram Stories.
“People are always asking me what kind of snacks I eat,” Halle wrote in the caption, “so today on my Stories I’m sharing two of my favourite #keto low-calorie snacks.”
Drumroll, please…
Skinny Pop Mini Popcorn Cakes, Sea Salt flavour
Halle highlighted these Skinny Pop mini popcorn cakes as one of her fave keto snacks. They have no sugar and four grams of fiber per 22-cake serving, netting you at 14 grams of carbs. Not too shabby, Halle!
Halle’s other keto snack pick: spicy raw sauerkraut. Sauerkraut (you know, fermented cabbage) is naturally low in carbs and is packed with probiotics, which promote gut health and, ahem, regularity. And some research has shown that certain strains of probiotics can promote weight loss (although more study is needed in that area!).
Add bone broth to this list (which Halle has previously said she drinks for glowing skin), since it only has one gram of carbs per cup, and you’ve got a pretty good keto snacks list for those days when cutting carbs makes you hangry.
