Mary J. Blige is just a few days into being 50, and she’s already posting bikini photos on Instagram that’ll make your jaw drop. The legendary singer-songwriter is celebrating her birthday someplace tropical and amazing-looking, and she’s got the pics to prove it.
The “Family Affair” songstress kept the caption simple, writing, “#WhereTheMoneyReside” but, tbh, no words necessary. Because, wow.
In the pic, Mary is wearing a metallic gold string bikini with wraparound accents. She’s perfectly accessorized with stacked bracelets, hoop earrings, and aviators, with her hair casually tossed over one shoulder. It’s what the rest of the world can only hope to look like at 50.
And her fans couldn’t get enough of her sexy and strong look.”50 where!?!? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥” one person wrote. “Wow. 😍 50 never looked so good!” another said.

But…how does Mary stay so fit? The “Be Without You” singer works hard to take care of herself.
She told Shape in a previous interview that that she’s big on cardio, calling it her “main” exercise. “Treadmill is fine, but running outdoors gives me the best results,” Mary said, noting that she tries to do six to eight miles a week. “I could be in the worst mood, but when I do my cardio I feel much, much better,” she added.
That’s not all: Mary’s also into swimming, something her trainer got her to try. “At first, it was very hard, but once I got in the water and figured out how to breathe, it was so liberating,” she said.
Mary’s trainer, Adam Ernster, also told SELF that his famous client will do plenty of strength training when she’s on the road, like squats, rows, and push-ups.
Mary is super conscious about what she puts in her body, too. She follows a gluten-free, dairy-free, and low-carb diet, and she doesn’t drink alcohol. “Others may be able to drink and have a great time, but it doesn’t work for me at this point,” she told Shape. “I haven’t had a drink in a year and three months. I had quit for a long time but started again about five years ago. I’m off it completely once more, and now I feel stronger than ever.”
Um yeah, it shows.
