Congratulations are in order for Mandy Moore, who recently welcomed a gorgeous boy with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith. Taking to social media, Moore announced the birth and even gave fans a cute glimpse of the newborn, while disclosing his name: August Harrison Goldsmith. Moore’s post read: “Gus is here. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith.”

She wrote: “He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined.”
It seems 2021 is the year of the name “August”. Prior to Moore’s announcement, it was revealed that royal Princess Eugenie also welcomed a newborn son who she called August. Perhaps it might just be trending name of the season, but it’s certainly a change up from the fruit-inspired names of yester-year that seemed to dominate celebrity newborn naming.

News of Moore’s pregnancy and delivery have been met with great celebration by her adoring fans. The actress has been open about her fertility struggles, even sharing her pregnancy complications along the way since revealing she was expecting back in September of 2020. Despite the difficult journey Moore has encountered with her first pregnancy, she said in an interview that she would be open to having another child.

Speaking to the hosts of the Informed Pregnancy Podcast, Moore said: “I have such a deeper appreciation for my body and the fact that us pregnant folks have the capacity to do this. It’s the coolest thing.”
She added, “I mean, I know that I joke with my husband already. We’re not at the end of the rollercoaster ride yet, and like, I’ll do this again. I’m so ready to do this again. Even if I was as sick as I was during the first trimester, there is something I think in the third trimester that is so profoundly magical and beautiful.”
