“That’s it, as hard as you can,” Jono says in the background of the vid, before counting down from seven to one.
“The ball didn’t stand a CHANCE! Work it gurl,” he captioned it.
In just two days, SO many people have commented on the post, praising Rebel for being such a badass. “Rebel’s killing it!!!??” one wrote. “That looks so hard??” added another.
It’s not surprising Rebel looks exhausted at the end, btw. Medicine ball slams are a compound movement—meaning they work multiple muscle groups at a time (upper body, core and lower body stability.) The key thing to remember when trying them out? Engage your abs and drive your back foot into the ground as you twist.
This is just one of many exercises Rebel does weekly. Speaking to Women’s Health in January, Jono explained that the pair like to mix things up, but always do a combo of high-intensity interval training, mobility and weights in their sessions.
“Our typical workout week looks like this,” he said.
DAY 1: HITT / MOBILITY
DAY 2: Weights / resistance
DAY 3: HITT
DAY 4: HITT
DAY 5: HITT / WEIGHTS
DAY 6: RECOVER
DAY 7: HITT
No rest for the wicked, hey Rebel? Keep dominating.
