2019 must be a unicorn year in terms of snacks because not only are we blessed with two edible cookie dough products, but now a third has surfaced, and it’s already incredibly popular. Allow us to introduce you to Cookie Dough Café’s safe-to-eat, Oreo cookie dough, available only at Sam’s Club.
Sam’s Club recently began selling the eight-pack edible cookie dough that includes four, 3.5-ounce cups of mini chocolate chip-flavored and Oreo-flavored cookie dough. The price isn’t too shabby, either, at $8.98 per multi-pack.
Currently, the cookie dough product has a 4.5 rating on Sam’s Club’s website. Most rave about the product, saying it tastes just like cookie dough, while others admit it has a “funky after-taste.” We’ll take our chances.
Obviously, you’ll want to reserve this treat on cheat days because each cup is 360 calories, has 12 grams of fat and 63 grams of carbs. We know, we know — way to bring the excitement down a few notches, but we’d feel remiss not to bring it up.
Enough about calories and carbs, though; let’s talk more about the rest of the edible cookie dough options available right now in stores.
More recently in June, Nestlé Toll House released tubs of worry-free edible cookie dough. They’re available in two different flavors, peanut butter chocolate chip monster and chocolate chip, and you can find Nestlé Toll House’s cookie dough at Publix Super Market, Meijer, select Walmart stores and selected regional grocery chains — but only this month.
And back in April, Ben & Jerry’s released a non-dairy, vegan-friendly cookie dough available as well as two other flavors, chocolate chip and peanut butter chocolate chip.
There you have it, folks. It’s the summer of the safe, edible cookie dough, and we’re here for it.
