After years of hearing our cries, General Mills is bringing back the cherished treat in summer 2020!
Rumors started circulating that the cookie-and-frosting dipping snack would be coming back when the verified Instagram account posted a picture of vanilla frosting with rainbow sprinkles with the eyes emoji as the caption on January 24. People quickly began getting their hopes up (as one does), and just like the Spice Girls came back into our lives, so are Dunkaroos.
“The iconic cookie and frosting duo will be available for dunking this summer in its most requested and beloved flavor: Vanilla Cookies and Vanilla Frosting With Rainbow Sprinkles,” a PR rep confirmed. We don’t see a reason why Dunkaroos won’t be bringing back its vanilla cookies with chocolate frosting flavor as well. It has to just be a matter of time, right?
Dunkaroos were such an important snack in the ’90s that brands like Yoplait, Walmart, and Lunchables made their own versions. As tasty as they may be, nothing beats the original.
