Costco Brought Back 'The Best Pot Pie' Just in Time for Fall & It's Perfect for Busy Weeknights

Fall is in the air, and even though some of us are still dealing with random late-summer heat waves, we’re ready for all of our favorite autumnal foods. Thank heavens for iced pumpkin spice lattes, right? This is also the time of year when it seems like our schedules start to get really busy, between back-to-school season and the lead-up to the holidays. That means that when we find pre-made comfort foods that scratch our fall cravings itch, we get seriously excited, and when we heard that Costco’s legendary chicken pot pies were finally back in stores, we knew they were just what we were looking for.

Costco members (sign up here) can look for these pot pies in stores around the country now. The chicken pot pie at Costco is a seasonal item, so you’ve got to enjoy it while it lasts! The pot pies are pretty gigantic, weighing in at about 5.5 pounds. And they cost just $3.99 per pound, which is a pretty great deal. Instagrammer Costco.Hot.Finds brushes hers with an egg wash to get the top golden and brown while it bakes, and the results are “the best pot pie” that “never gets old.”

Costco’s chicken pot pies can be found in the fresh food case in the deli area of the store. In the past, some customers complained that the pie was too salty, but they changed the recipe a couple of years ago, and customers reported that it was both less salty and had more gravy inside.

The pies are pretty gigantic and feed a crowd. If you don’t have six hungry adults to feed, some Costco customers have reported freezing portions of the pie successfully. First, pop the pie in the freezer until it’s no longer jiggly in the middle, then cut it into portions that can be individually heated up in the oven when you’re ready for some classic comfort food. We don’t care what the weather app says…in our minds, fall is officially here, and the return of Costco’s chicken pot pie seals the deal.
