Cell Migration and Invasion Assays by Platypus Technologies

In order to ensure consistent cell-free regions for each experiment, Cell Migration and Invasion Assays by Platypus Technologies utilize exclusion zone technology. The Oris™  Cell Migration and Invasion Assays allow the reproducible and accurate quantification of cell movement.

Cell Migration Assays

Benefits

  • Utilize Oris™ for maximal assay flexibility
  • No artificial membranes
  • Real-time monitoring
  • Quantification with microscopes, plate readers, or high-content imagers
  • Industry-standard 96- or 384-well formats

In order to form a central cell-free detection zone in the center of every well of a 96-well plate, Oris™ Cell Migration assays utilize physical “stopper” barriers.

  • Utilize Oris™ for maximal flexibility in assay design.
  • Utilize Oris™ with the Oris™ Detection Mask for analysis on plate readers that lack virtual masking.
  • Utilize Oris™ if the cells need a long adhesion period.
  • Choose tissue culture-treated, collagen I coated, or fibronectin-coated plates.
  • Seed cells around the stoppers and removes the stoppers when cells have adhered to the surface to begin the assay.

Cell Invasion Assays

Cell Invasion assays enable the user to monitor cell movement via an extracellular matrix in three dimensions. In cancer research, where invading tumor cells result in metastasis, which is the deadliest aspect of the disease, cell invasion is of notable concern.

Platypus Technologies’ Cell Invasion Assays enable the user to monitor cellular behavior in real-time in a physiological relevant micro-environment that resembles in vivo conditions more accurately.

Benefits of Platypus Technologies’ Cell Invasion Assays

  • No artificial membranes
  • Monitoring in real-time
  • Invasion Assay imitates in vivo conditions
  • Quantification with microscopes, plate readers, or high-content imagers
  • Simple to use
