If we’re honest, we haven’t achieved that much in 2020 (aside from mastering the art of making PJs acceptable Zoom meeting attire.) Rebel Wilson, on the other hand? She’s killing it at life rn. In fact, only five months into her self-proclaimed ‘year of health’ she’s never felt – or looked – better.
Via Instagram, the Bridesmaids actress shared an update on how she’s been going with her weight loss and fitness regime – which, btw, involves working out with her trainer Jono Castano six days a week.
“I’ll be honest with you guys – with my ‘Year of Health’ mission I’m trying to get to 75kg’s and career wise am trying to get one of my movies into production before the end of the year! Both of these things are requiring a daily effort and there’s constant set backs – but I’m working hard,” she wrote.
To help her reach her weight loss goal, the pair have been focusing on high-intensity exercise and doing regular circuits (think 30 laps of the Opera House stairs). Rebel’s also been walking more and making “positive changes” to her diet, like avoiding sugar and junk food and ensuring she’s well hydrated.
“Even if you have to crawl towards your goals, keep going x it will be worth it,” she continued in the caption. “Try and give a little bit of effort each day…I know some days are frustrating as hell, you feel like giving up, you get annoyed at the lack of progress…but good things are coming your way ?”
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rebel explained how she’d accidentally lost 4kg in less than a week while filming the movie Cats. Because there were so many elite dancers in the cast, the set was heated to sauna-like conditions every day to avoid anyone pulling a muscle.
“I lost eight pounds, shooting my number, in four days,” she said. “One, because there’s a lot of physicalities… but also, they heated up the set very high, to almost 100 degrees Fahrenheit [38 °C,] so that we could never cool down.”
Whatever your method, it’s clearly working Rebel. Keep up the good work!
