Cotton Candy Grapes Exist & You Can Get Them at Sam's Club

Cotton candy grapes are exactly what you think they are: grapes that taste like cotton candy. And if you’ve never heard of or even tried the fruit, we don’t blame you. They’re only available for a few months out of the year, so it’s like the Hunger Games in grocery stores when they do arrive. And that time has finally come, as cotton candy grapes are now available at Sam’s Club.

Sam’s Club gets their cotton candy grapes from Nogales, Arizona-based Divine Flavors, which produces the green, seedless grapes the months of May and June. Currently, the cotton candy grapes are priced at $9.56 a bushel at Sam’s Club — and they’re already sold out online. But that doesn’t mean you can’t check in at a Sam’s Club near you to see if they’re available in-store. Cotton candy grapes are also available at other grocery stores, including Fry’s, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s.

According to California-based farm Grapery, which also produces cotton candy grapes, they achieved the cotton candy flavor by working closely with their breeding partner and using all-natural breeding practices.

“We breed for flavor, continuously experimenting, trying out a wide range of cross-pollination combinations. Frankly, we were stunned when we discovered a new grape that tasted like cotton candy. But, rest assured, it was accomplished by completely natural means. We didn’t apply any “cotton candy flavoring” or plant any sort of flavoring materials into the soil to attain the cotton candy flavor,” the Grapery explains.

Grapery also produces cotton candy grapes later in the year versus Divine Flavors.

For them, the grapes are distributed between August 10 and September 20. So, if you can’t find them over the next few weeks, chances are you’ll see them again in a few more months. Check Grapery’s retailer map to find the grocery stores they ship to in your state.

That’s enough for now; we need to get out of here and find these cotton candy grapes, stat.
